Environmentally Preferable Flooring
At Polyflor Ltd, we strive to be an environmentally and economically sustainable business, recycling and reducing waste and being as carbon neutral as possible. Our new product development continues to focus on reducing environmental impact by providing a high level of durability, reliability, ease of maintenance and safe disposal. Whilst choosing Environmentally Preferable Flooring from Polyflor, it is also important to be assured that this means zero compromise in choice and function of the product – our flooring ranges are completely fit for purpose.
We have environmental management system ISO 14001 in place and have done so since 2000. Because of this there are clear, documented environmental policies and objectives in place, which we are tasked to meet or supersede.
Polyflor’s floorcoverings perform exceptionally well in a life cycle analysis. We have recently become the first flooring manufacturer to achieve an A+ BRE Global rating (certification number ENP336) and not only that but for thirteen ranges across key use areas.
Within the life cycle of Polyflor flooring, significant progress has been made to reduce energy, carbon emissions and waste. Furthermore recycling has and will continue to play a massive part in Polyflor’s everyday operations to enable a closed loop process and divert away from landfill. This includes recycling post production waste as well as post consumer waste. We have taken an important and proactive step to spearhead a vinyl flooring recovery initiative, to encourage and facilitate more recycling – we are one of two founder members of Recofloor, the industry funded vinyl take-back scheme.
