Polyflor SD tiles stamp out static at Royal Mail
Polyflor’s specially engineered static dissipative SD tiles have been in installed at the Royal Mail sorting office in Norwich.
Around 1200m˛ of SD tiles were specified to eliminate electrostatic discharge in an area filled with electronic sorting equipment. The installation was carried out by Moore Flooring in Bentley.
“We operate heavy-duty electronic sorting machinery to provide an efficient service and the use of this machinery can lead to a build up of static electricity,” commented Dan Tovey, world class mail champion at Royal Mail.
“The SD flooring dissipates the static charge safely while providing a resilient surface that can handle the foot traffic of staff and the mail trolleys used to transport post and packages around the facility.”
Polyflor’s ESD static dissipative range comprises Polyflor SD, Polyflor Finesse SD and Polyflor 2000 SD. Available in sheet and tile, all three products are ideally suited for a number of specific applications, including telecommunications installations, computer rooms, scanner rooms, X-ray suites and operating theatres
