Over 1000mē of Forest fx PUR wood effect vinyl flooring from Polyflor was installed in the hospital’s new Ward 500 by contractors S & D Flooring of Hull. The Vermont Maple design was used throughout the ward, including in corridors and waiting areas, to give the area a fresh, sophisticated look.
Featuring 14 authentic wood effect designs in a practical and durable vinyl sheet format, the hard wearing Forest fx range has been designed for use in heavy commercial environments such as high traffic healthcare facilities. Forest fx can be welded at the seams to provide a hygienic surface finish, offering no sanctuary for dirt and bacteria, whilst the product’s cross-linked and UV cured polyurethane reinforcement (PUR) offers a low cost, polish-free maintenance regime for the lifetime of the flooring.
Hedley Wilson, Building Estates Officer at Hull Royal Infirmary comments, “The Forest fx range ticks all the boxes for us as it is a proven performer in demanding healthcare environments, it looks great and is also easy to clean.”
Polyflor’s flooring contains recycled material and is 100% recyclable via the Recofloor scheme. The Forest fx flooring collection also achieves an individually certified BRE Global A+ rating in healthcare facilities which can contribute to BREEAM credits, as can the product’s BES 6001 certification which demonstrates compliance with a recognised responsible sourcing scheme as certified by the BRE.
