In continuation of a successful career, Henrike Körner wished to create an eponymous salon which channelled her vibrant personality. Thanks to a renovation project which heavily featured Expona Commercial PUR flooring, such dreams became a reality, marking the start of an exciting new venture.

Henrike Körner, which provides hairdressing and beauty services, is managed by its owner and namesake.
As a former spa manager and trainer for a leading cosmetics brand, this solo business venture from Körner had been a lifelong ambition.
The building (which previously operated as a bank) is positioned centrally within her picturesque hometown of Itzehoe, northern Germany, seeing Körner return to her roots.
Following a comprehensive modernisation, Henrike Körner opened its doors to delighted customers in August 2023, providing them with a hospitable welcome.
Körner commenced the design of her salon with clear ideas concerning her preferred equipment and furnishings. The flooring was no exception, requiring an eye-catching design to complement the brightly lit, glass-fronted building.
Due to heavy footfall throughout the working week, the chosen product also needed to combine high durability with simple maintenance. The answer came from large-format planks within the Expona Commercial PUR collection.
Körner opted for Oiled Oak (4098), a modern interpretation of classic oak, laid in a herringbone design to create an angular floor that adds volume to the surrounding décor.
Farben Holm KG, led by Florian Ehlers, completed the expert flooring installation. Before the renovation, the flooring comprised tiles and needlefelt carpet laid upon concrete screed. His professional team carefully prepared the subfloor, allowing the speedy installation of Expona Commercial PUR.
Upon completion, the impactful floor boasted an elegant appearance, whilst its light tone, under an array of lighting fixtures, added depth.
Today, the salon thrives as a prominent business in town, offering a first-class service which stands out as a cut above the rest.
The expressive wood appearance and distinctive herringbone design are incredibly effective in the main room.
